Mammoth Hot Springs is at the northern end of Yellowstone NP where hot springs have spewed minerals (calcium carbonate) for eons to produce a small mountain
that overlooks a small village and baracks from Fort Yellowstone, which the elk like. The live hot springs' water-flows are made colorful by the growing algae
while the old, dried springs' paths have bleached white from the carbonate.
